>> Why does my phone line 'buzz' when I use broadband?

If you hear buzzing on our telephone line when using your broadband connection - the most likely cause is incorrect use of ADSL splitters / microfilters.

It is important that:

  • An ADSL splitter is the first device plugged into the BT telephone socket and that the other normal telephone devices are then plugged into that.
  • That an ADSL splitter is connected to 'every' BT telephone socket on the line broadband is enabled on - not just the one you connect your broadband modem or router into!

Another possibility (although much less likely) is that your ADSL splitter / microfilter may be faulty?

For more details on ADSL splitters / microfilters please see here.

If you need to order additional microfilters please contact us.
